For all Meigas around (In Galician, Meiga means: good wizard, kind of witch, who used to live in the forest, herbalist, Elder, wise, connected to her intuition and magic power:
Meet our last design, Meiga Top. Last year, we bought some dead stock from a Canadian fabric supplier, this beautiful hand block printed cotton from India. We had this idea of mixing fabrics, textures, weights, and prints, and we also love to buy deadstock (leftovers from other brands). The Meiga top is a combination of the linen/organic cotton blend kind of twill, also used for the Meiga shorts, and the block printed cotton. Do not expect perfection, the printed area is printed in an artisanal way, so it’s normal to find some beautiful “mistakes”. For us, it’s a way to remember and honour the human hands behind it.
This top come in different variations. Sizes vary depending on the design, some of them are only available one or two units per size.
Please be aware, some of the printed cotton designs are directional (means in theory, they have a “way” to be used, like flowers, facing up). Because our priority in our designs, is to reduce fabric waste, the way to do it this time was cutting the fabric in a way it was all non directional. We could make more tops, and have almost zero waist. The result, is that some flowers are facing up, and some facing down. It’s part of our commitment to sustainability, and humans behind. We do not use AI in any of the steps, neither our manufacturer.
Fit is boxy, but following curves. Light, breathable, and very versatile. Combine them with your Meiga shorts, or anything you have already on your closet. Dress it up for a special event, or casual for a beach day.
Care instructions: As we always recommend for all our designs:
-Wash it only if necessary. Hanging your clothes outside during the night makes miracles refreshing your clothes without washing them.
-Hand wash, or machine wash in delicate program, cold water.
-Hand dry in the shade! This is important our fabrics are dyed with non toxic dyes, and these are more prone to sunburn damage. If dryer is unavoidable, use only the delicate setting, on the lowest temperature.
With love,
Uxia
